Mental Health & the Tarot:
The Tarot is a tool that has been used for recreation, divination, and self-exploration for centuries, and there are as many ways to use a Tarot deck as there are readers. Let's explore a social-emotional perspective on the iconography of the Major and Minor Arcana. We'll look at individual cards as metaphor for patterns like codependency and trauma; using the four suits to guide self-care and track symptoms; and tips for reading for yourself/others during times of emotional distress.
Abolitionist Witchcraft:
What is the relationship between witchcraft and anarcho-communism? What is "somatic abolitionism" and how can magic help us embody it? Looking ahead to an uncertain future, we must call on tools to help us imagine a world that has never existed. This class will explore the epistemology of justice, the reproduction of oppression, and the resilience skills required for sustained political/magical action.
Trauma & the Magical Body:
One of the most challenging parts of healing from trauma is re-learning how to trust your instincts and feel safe in your body. Luckily, witchcraft gives us tools for both of these journeys. Exploring multidisciplinary perspectives on the trauma, magic, and pleasure, students will gain insight into the physiology of pain and healing, plus the practical skills to apply this information to their own practice of self-care or caring for others.
How to Be A Pleasure Witch:
Wondering what type of witchcraft is right for you? Perhaps the answer begins and ends with your own pleasure. Come explore what it means to be a "pleasure witch," why it's distinct from sex magic, and how this form of personal practice can be used for self-discovery, healing, and manifestation. We'll cover the relationship between intuition and pleasure, and students will be led in a beginner-friendly guided meditation they can revisit as they begin to build their pleasure practice.
pleasure magic & the inner shadow:
This beginner-friendly workshop will explore the various interpretations of "the shadow," and offer the framework of pleasure witchcraft as a means of self-exploration. Participants will learn practical, embodied, trauma-responsive tools for safely experiencing fear and anxiety, and be guided through a basic exercise for beginning shadow work.
The Neurodivergent Witch:
Are you curious about using witchcraft and ritual to manage your ADHD symptoms? Looking for a magical perspective on depression and anxiety? Struggling to explain your Tarot readings to your therapist? This fun and informative workshop will explore strengths, pitfalls, and self-care strategies for witches living with common mental health diagnoses.
